Welcome to Mona's House!  Our mission is to help homeless pets.  We rescue, foster, rehabilitate and help them find forever homes!

We have rescued, rehabilitated and found homes for over 150 homeless pets since May, 2013!!!

Looking for Forever Homes...

Izzy - Izzy is a 5 year old, 100 pound PET PIG. She found herself homeless and was lovingly fostered by one of our volunteers. She is very sweet and must go to a "pigs are friends, not food" home.

Patches is a 5 year old, female, Old English Bulldog.  She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.

Patches has special needs.  She has been diagnosed with "mega esophagus" which means her esophagus has trouble moving food to her stomach.  This means sometimes she regurgitates food.  She is doing very well and has put some weight on while staying here with us.  Her condition is not curable, but it is easily manager.  All the tools needed to manage her condition will be provided by Mona's House to the adopter.  We are also happy to answer any questions you may have!

Patches gets along well with other dogs, but must meet any potential canine siblings before adoption.

Patches is crate trained and house broken. She is well trained and walks nicely on a leash. She loves to play fetch and to play with "stuffies". Her favorite is her elephant, Harry Elefante.

Molly is a 6 month old, female, Border Collie mix.  She is a very sweet and active girl.  She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

Molly spent the first several months of her life on a chain.  She is now learning all the comforts of home and how to live in the house like the spoiled girl she should be.  She would like an active family that will be patient with her as she learns.  She is eager to please and loves everyone and gets along with other dogs.

Molly does well in her crate and is working on house breaking and leash manners.

Laila is a 10 month old, female, Cattle Dog mix. She is active and loves people!  She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines.

Laila gets along with other dogs.  Cattle dogs can have a high prey drive and herding instinct so we don't recommend anything in the house they can chase...small animals, cats, small kids.  Cattle dogs can be great family dogs when trained properly but some instincts are just there to stay.

Laila is crate trained and is working on her house breaking and leash manners.

We also recommend the following rescues....

Please check out Bandit's Place Rescue.  They are a Connecticut based rescue and we foster some of their dogs right here.  Their founder, Liz Bennett, is featured on the "Lost and Pound" segment on WFSB Channel 3 News.

Please check out Wings of Freedom Animal Rescue.  They are a Connecticut based rescue made up entirely of volunteers and all the dogs are in foster homes to ease their transitions to their FURever home.

Also check out Friday's Rescue Foundation in Groton, CT.  They have over 60 dogs and cats that are looking for forever homes!
